Educational Opportunities: Conservation Camps

A great opportunity for our Garden Clubs to provide scholarships to those youth interested in learning more about our natural resources and their economic and social importance.      Learn more about the forest, wildlife, water and soil conservation and management.    A Project supported by the WVDNR, the WV Division of Forestry,  the WV DEP, the WVU Extension Service,   and WEST VIRGINIA GARDEN CLUBS

WHO: Camp is open to all West Virginia boys and girls aged 14 to 18 years old (as of January 1, 2019)

WHERE: CAMP CAESAR, Located on Route 20 between Webster Springs and Cowen, WV
Applications must be completed (physicals required) and money received by May 15th, 2019

As of this printing we do not know the dates and cost for these camps but please plan to make a contribution in March 2019 toward this worthwhile education for our youth ! Historically the camps are both held in June and the cost has been about $200 per person. I hope your club would like to provide scholarship money (full or partial scholarships) please let me know as soon as possible :

If you have Youth between the ages of 11 and 14, you may want to do a scholarship for Junior Conservation Camp.  Youth must be age 11 by June 15, 2015 and must not reach age 15 on or before June 19th, 2019; CAMP is held at Cedar Lakes, Ripley, WV.
