West Virginia Celebrates National Garden  Week

East River Mountain Club - Greenbrier District    Submitted by Kelly Knowles

Our members, Debrah Ammar, created this breathtaking arrangement in celebration of National Garden Club week. She is the owner and artistic director of Magnolia on Jefferson in Bluefield, WV. The arrangement will be delivered to one of our members who is in a nursing home!

Williamson Wildwood - Ohio Guyan District    Submitted by Sheila Rose

For my project, I cut zinnias from my garden and arranged them in a glass jar. Then, I tied a pretty ribbon around it. I delivered it to Mary Jo, a Williamson resident who has a cerebral palsy. She has pushed herself throughout her life to find a way to live her best life. She has been struggling more recently and has had a lot of medical issues. She appreciated the positive attention and beauty.

WE CHOSE TO ARRANGE AND DELIVER BOUQUETS TO OUR MAYOR AS A THANK YOU FOR HIS SERVICE TO OUR COMMUNITYANOTHER ARRANGMENT WENT TO COLONIAL NURSERY BECAUSE THEY SUPPORT ALL OF OUR LOCAL CLUBS BY SPEAKING AT MEETINGS, GIVING ADVISE AND LOANING SHRUBS FOR OUR HOME AND GARDEN TOURS. LASTLY, WE TOOK A BOUQUET TO JASON, OWNER OF UNCLE JOE'S BARBERSHOP, BECAUSE HE HAS BEEN VERY GENEROUS IN SUPPORTING OUR CLUB'S FUNDRAISER.

Paden City - Ohio Valley    Submitted by Nancy Springer
The Paden City Garden Club in recognition of National Garden Week held June 1 - 7, 2025 presented a vase of beautiful live flowers to the Paden City Public Library. Pictured with the arrangement is Librarian Danielle Ice Davis. The Library staff have been extremely helpful to  by providing our Garden Club with technical help, raffles, housing receptions, making copies of anything we need and providing us with material for programs. We greatly appreciate all of their help.

Hill & Hollow members celebrated National Garden Week by creating flower arrangements for members of the community and club. Terry Williams, Mayor of the City of Spencer also signed and presented the National Garden Week Proclamation to H&H club president, Pam Simien.

Olde Berkeley Garden Club  Shenandoah Potomac   Submitted by Sheri Lincecum 

 Olde Berkeley donated flower arrangement to Berkeley Senior Services in Martinsburg in celebration of National Garden Club WeekI have also sent these to Heidi & Vickie.

North Hills - Ohio Valley    Submitted by Roann Wojck 

The North Hills Garden Club celebrated National Garden Week by preparing an exhibition for our local library. Our group donated a blooming flower container garden, the librarian displayed books about gardening, and we left some gardening pamphlets with the display. We also issued a proclamation about Garden Week which was signed by the Mayor of North Hills.

Mountaineer -  Tygart Valley    Submitted by Faith Moore

In honor of National Garden Club week, June 1-7, MGC member, Sandra Hockman arranged flowers from various members' gardens and presented them to our main supporters in Parsons. She also made individual cards expressing the club's thanks. Mountain Valley Bank, Citizens Bank, and Five Rivers Public Library.

Judy's - Appalachian   Submitted by Pat McPherson 

Judy’s Garden Club has a display at Sutton Library, has read gardening books to students (Brenda’s books) and will offer a free item at the Farmers Market to any new member that pays dues in June. All in recognition of National Gardening Week!
